Saturday Speaker Series: Exploring Holiday Traditions

  • St. Charles History Museum 215 East Main Street St. Charles, IL 60174 United States (map)

Have you ever wondered where some of our Christmas traditions come from? It may seem like many of the Christmas traditions that we cherish have been around forever. The Christmas tree, sending Christmas cards, exchanging gifts, glass ornaments, and Santa Claus traveling on his sleigh pulled by reindeer are integral parts of many Americans’ Christmas celebrations.

But Christmas as we know it today developed in the not-too-distant past during the 1800s. Join our Executive Director, Alison Costanzo who will discuss how many of these different traditions started as well as showcase items from the Museum’s permanent collection.

Space is limited and RSVP is encouraged by November 28, please fill out the form below or call 630.584.6967.
